Director of Public Health Solutions As the Director of Public Health Solutions, Andy is responsible for investigating and identifying techniques to further characterize and predict health conditions. His interest in statistics, as well as computational and analytical modeling techniques, supports his goal to improve the quality of healthcare by utilizing easily-accessible data streams. A graduate of Johns Hopkins University with a PhD in Molecular Microbiology and Immunology, Andy brings experience in both computer science and public health to HMS. He is a member of the International Society for Disease Surveillance and the Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists, and has received numerous awards for his research. Andy is an accomplished speaker and has presented at symposiums including the Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists Annual Conference and the Annual International Society for Disease Surveillance Conference. Before joining HMS in 2008, Andy worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Carnegie Mellon University's School of Computer Science and as a Graduate Student at Johns Hopkins University's Bloomberg School of Public Health.
